The Cotton That Changes Everything
Tanguis cotton grows in the coastal valleys of Peru — one of the few places on earth where soil, altitude, and climate combine to produce an extra-long staple fiber that simply cannot be replicated anywhere else. The longer the staple, the finer the thread. The finer the thread, the softer the hand feel, the tighter the weave, and the longer the garment holds its structure.
We hand-harvest every boll to preserve the full staple length. Machines are faster. They also break the fiber. That is why most cotton polos pill within a season and NIAM's do not.

Most performance apparel starts with fabric and figures out the movement later. We started with the golf swing — its rotation, its reach, its demand on the shoulder — and engineered backward from there.

What we start with determines everything. Every NIAM garment begins with certified Tanguis cotton — a long-staple variety grown in Peru's coastal valleys, hand-harvested, and prized for its natural stretch, softness, and breathability. We don't blend it down. We don't substitute when it's convenient. The fiber is the foundation.

We pattern our garments around movement, not mannequins. Every silhouette is cut for a natural athletic stance — shoulder room for the backswing, a clean taper through the torso, a hem length that stays tucked. Not boxy. Not streetwear slim. Built for how a golfer actually moves.
